1.1. Using game vulnerabilities — all servers

Every game has vulnerabilities that let a player gain something they should not rightfully have. Whenever a player uses a game vulnerability to obtain anything, the violator must be punished.

Examples of violations:

  • Glitching a character through the map
  • Duplicating items or creatures via ARK Data
  • Using special methods to place structures where structures normally cannot be placed
  • Using game bugs to cause the server problems
  • Installing cheat software on your computer
  • Other similar actions

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — a permanent ban.

1.2. Causing trouble to other players — PvE servers only

Living together, everyone in a society must realize that "we" are the environment of others, and "others" are our environment too. Our actions affect others both directly and indirectly, so players must not cause trouble for each other. Consider whether your actions harm other players; whoever causes trouble to another player must be punished.

If the trouble was not intentional, the person who caused it should apologize and appropriately compensate the victim — and if the victim does not want them punished, they will not be punished.

Examples of violations:

  • Dragging an offline player's character into water
  • Luring wild creatures to destroy another player's structures
  • Luring wild creatures to attack another player's creatures
  • Tricking or cheating other players for your own benefit
  • Stealing items or creatures from other players
  • Building structures that block access to Runes, Loot crates, Artifacts, Obelisk terminals, City terminals, or Mission Dispatchers
  • Building inside caves and not demolishing afterwards
  • Spamming structures to occupy more territory than necessary
  • Turning another player's machines on or off without permission
  • Other similar actions

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — a permanent ban.

1.3. Violators and participants in a violation — all servers

Every violation has an offender — and anyone who intentionally helps or facilitates the offender before, during, or after the offense is a participant in that violation.

A participant receives exactly the same punishment as the offender, except in some cases where the server administrator may reduce or waive the penalty.

Examples of violations:

  • Preparing items, creatures, or resources for an offender to use
  • Helping an offender conceal the offense
  • Misrepresenting facts in an administrator's investigation
  • Helping an offender cause trouble to others
  • Taking the offender's side out of bias
  • Other similar actions

1.4. Editing or destroying evidence — all servers

Evidence consists of: 1) personal witnesses, 2) documentary evidence, 3) physical evidence, and 4) expert witnesses. Anyone who edits or destroys evidence must be punished.

Examples of violations:

  • Lying to the server administrator
  • Violating a rule, then uploading the character into ARK Data and destroying it to escape punishment
  • Throwing away stolen goods to escape punishment
  • Violating a rule, then leaving the tribe to create a new one under a new name to escape punishment
  • Other similar actions

Penalty: 1st time — a permanent ban.

1.5. Defying an administrator's order or ruling — all servers

Whoever defies an order to correct or compensate for an offense, or defies a ruling despite being clearly guilty, must be punished.

Penalty: 1st time — a permanent ban, and everything belonging to the violator is removed.
