2.1. Homestead (habitat)

A homestead is an area or place used as a residence. It must have clear boundary indicators — perimeter walls, turret coverage over the whole area, and the like (structure spam does NOT count as a clear boundary). Without clear boundaries, only the buildings themselves count as the homestead, not the surrounding area.

A homestead should occupy an area appropriate to its actual use. If, at the server administrator's discretion, territory is being held without proper use, the owner must be punished.

A homestead must not block significant travel routes. If it does, it must contain a public path about the width and height of a Behemoth Gateway so others can pass through; otherwise the owner must be punished.

Examples of violations:

  • Walling off the space bridge on Genesis: Part 2, forcing others to travel much farther
  • Blocking the main river on The Island so boats cannot pass
  • Blocking the entrance to an Obelisk terminal, City terminal, or Mission Dispatcher
  • Claiming several large areas but leaving them empty and rarely used, so others have nowhere to build
  • Other similar actions

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — the offending structures are deleted; 3rd time — every structure on the map belonging to the violator is deleted.

2.2. Structures near Runes, Explorer Notes, Loot crates, Artifacts, Obelisk terminals, City terminals, or Mission Dispatchers

No building or placed structure is allowed within a radius of 20 foundations centered on an Obelisk terminal, City terminal, or Mission Dispatcher. If one stands in that area for more than 1 day, its owner must be punished.

Structures near Runes, Explorer Notes, Loot crates, and Artifacts must not prevent other players from reaching them. Blocking access in any way is punished.

Tribe case: when a structure rule is broken, the tribe owns the structure regardless of who built it — every member of the tribe is penalized. Individual case: the player alone is penalized.

Examples of violations:

  • Building a storage depot within the forbidden radius of an Obelisk terminal
  • Covering a Loot crate with a building to keep it for yourself
  • Running a Tek forcefield over a City terminal to keep it for yourself
  • Other similar actions

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — the offending structures are deleted; 3rd time — every structure on the map belonging to the violator is deleted; 4th time — a permanent ban.

2.3. Structure spam (mass repetitive structures)

Players may not spam structures to seize territory for more than 1 day.

Examples of violations:

  • Spamming structures to seize territory without putting it to real use
  • Spamming structures to harass other players
  • Spamming structures to reserve an area and never demolishing them
  • Spamming structures that suppress resource spawns outside your own homestead
  • Spamming structures that suppress creature spawns outside your own homestead
  • Building taming traps and not demolishing them after use
  • Other similar actions

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — the offending structures are deleted; 3rd time — every structure on the map belonging to the violator is deleted; 4th time — a permanent ban.

2.4. Caves

A cave is a chamber or hollow running deep into the surface.

  • If a Loot crate, Artifact, Obelisk terminal, or Mission Dispatcher is inside a cave, nothing may be built or placed in that cave (anything built or placed for temporary use must be demolished within 1 day)
  • If creatures spawn inside a cave, players may not block its entrances or build/place anything that reduces the creature spawn rate there
  • If resources spawn inside a cave, players may not block its entrances or build/place anything that cuts the cave's resource spawns by more than 50% of normal
  • Players may not leave themselves or their tribe's creatures inside a cave for more than 1 day

Examples of violations: building a door across a cave mouth, placing a bed in a cave, placing spike walls in a cave, and other similar actions.

Penalties: 1st time — a warning (in some cases no warning is given); 2nd time — the offending structures are deleted; 3rd time — every structure on the map belonging to the violator is deleted; 4th time — a permanent ban.
