A baby asks for care (a cuddle, a walk or a food) at fixed intervals: about every 8 hours on official settings (28,800 seconds), scaled by the server's BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier. Missing care requests can leave less time to reach your intended imprint before adulthood. Ask the admin to confirm the current game and care settings, including BabyCuddleGracePeriodMultiplier, before attributing a change in quality to a missed request; do not assume all servers behave identically.
On default settings, only the player who claimed the newborn can imprint it. A server option, AllowAnyoneBabyImprintCuddle, lets others care for babies too. Players report that unclaiming and reclaiming a baby does not move the imprint to someone else. The imprint bonus to damage and resistance applies only while the player who imprinted the creature is riding it.
A Cryopod pauses the imprint and maturation timers. In ASA, the old trick of podding a baby to change what it asks for no longer works. ASA shows "Cannot Imprint: Tame Cap reached" when the tame limit is full.
On our ASA maps: a care request every 48 minutes (BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier 0.1) and maturation ten times faster. On 28/10/2026 BabyImprintAmountMultiplier went from 2.0 to 2.5 on every ASA map, taking effect as each map started again: about 5 care requests to 100 % for a Rex or a Wyvern (about 4 hours) and 13 for a Giganotosaurus (about 10.4 hours). Babies already growing kept their percentage. ASE values are not published here.
