- A fatal error or a crash to the desktop, often while loading into a map with mods, or after a big update.
- "Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource", in busy places such as big bases or many creatures, or after a graphics-driver update.
- Low FPS or stutter; the inventory freezes when FSR upscaling is on.
- Only one map crashes for you.

Why it happens
The official support article lists both hardware and software causes: a PC below the requirements, outdated drivers, apps running in the background, or damaged game files. The minimum on the game's Steam page is 16 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, DirectX 12, and "SSD Required".
"Out of video memory" does not by itself prove that the graphics card's memory is exhausted. RAD Game Tools documents CPU instability that can produce a misleading GPU-memory error in Unreal games; use the crash context and hardware checks to identify the cause. Higher settings, a higher resolution and frame generation all use more of it, and players also link the error to a new graphics driver. Many crashes are game bugs that get patched — v94.7, for example, "fixed multiple client crashes" — and forum threads also name out-of-date or conflicting mods and a broken local mod folder. Two open reports on the official tracker connect a freezing inventory to FSR upscaling.
